Reidsville - Woodrow "Woody" Vernon Satterfield, 75, of 221 Harvest Road, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shannon Newsome and Rev. Tom Brown officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.Mr. Satterfield was born in Alamance County and was the son of the late, Lacy and Vera Murray Satterfield. He owned & operated Satterfield's Amoco and retired after 27 years of service. He was a hard working, dependable man that loved his family and was a member of Reidsville Christian Church. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, William and Tommy Satterfield.He is survived by his wife Christine Satterfield of the home; his children, Tim Satterfield and wife, Pauline of Martinsville, VA, Shelia Satterfield of Burlington, Reid Yeatts and wife, Natasha of Reidsville, Jeff Satterfield and wife, Kelly of Burlington and Neil Satterfield and special friend, Tina Gregg of Reidsville; grandchildren, Savannah, Samantha, Grace, Bethany, Zack and Brooke; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Henry Satterfield and wife, Angelia of Gibsonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 27th at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at his home.
