Reidsville, NC - Woodrow Wadson “Woody” Moore, 87, of 1103 Wentworth Street, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2008 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Clayton, Rev. Lewis Wall and Rev. George Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with military graveside rites. Pallbearers will be James Dyson, Mark Crouse, Wade Crouse, Scott Moore, Dorian French and Dustin Simmons. Woody was born in Rockingham County to the late John Cecil and Martha Elizabeth Sutton Moore. He retired from the American Tobacco Company with 34 years of service. He became a member of Baptist Temple church in 1950, but for the past eight years has been attending Covington Wesleyan Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in WWII. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Roberts Moore of the home; son, Steve W. Moore and wife, Gloria; granddaughters, Errin Moore French and husband, Dorian, Devan Moore Simmons and husband, Dustin; great grandchildren, Candace ,Brianna and Alyssa; brothers, Cecil Moore, James Worth “Bill” Moore, Earl Franklin “Johnny” Moore; sisters, Arlena Blankenship, Doris Manring, Betty Dyson and Elsie London; sisters-in-law, Ruby Moore, Annie Pearl Moore and Alice Moore; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 27th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
