Wynell Gardner Harkey

Reidsville- Wynell Gardner Harkey, 63, of 132 Shadowood Lane, ended her long battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 and is now with the Lord in Heaven. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Benjamin Williams officiating. The family will see friends following the service.A separate graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Albemarle, NC officiated by Rev. Joe Smith.Wynell was born in Stanly County, NC to Louise Howard Gardner and the late William Frank Gardner. She was a former employee of Wilkerson Funeral Home, Wachovia Bank and Swann Paint Co. and also attended First Presbyterian Church in Eden. She was a loving mother and wife and a friend to all that knew her.Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Steve Harkey, Sr.; son, Steve Harkey, Jr. and wife, Michelle ; mother, Louise Gardner; sister, Debbie Frick and late husband, Steve; niece, Kristy Abernethy and husband, Jason; great-niece, Brynn; her constant companions, Meggie and Katie and many other loving extended family members.
