Zebulon (Bill) Vance Tarkington

Reidsville –Bill Tarkington, 80, of 749 Oregon Hill Road, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with   Dr. Ron Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Mr. Tarkington was born in Roper, North Carolina and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during WWII. He retired from Lorillard after 31 years of service and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Edna A. Tarkington of the home; daughter, Patricia Benditz and husband, John of Louisville, TN; son, Thomas Tarkington and wife Rita of Roper, NC; step daughter, Amy Coleman and husband, Donald of Reidsville; grandchildren, Nathan and Ben Benditz, Amber McMullen and husband, Doug, Christy Stowe and husband, Brian; great grandchildren, Ashtyn and Grayson McMullen. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Saturday, March 8 2008 and other times will be at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O.
